The Best Sweets in Savannah, Georgia

I'm pretty sure that Savannah's Waterfront is where Willy Wonka was inspired to become the confectioner king.  I'll stop by River Street Sweets and the Savannah Candy Shop.

RIVER STREET SWEETS
If you've ever watched Paula Deen's cooking show, you've heard of Savannah's famous pralines and bear claws. A friend and I went for a walk on the Riverfront with a mission to taste as many pralines, bear claws, fudge and other treats as possible. River Street Sweets was my favorite. The staff was very knowledgeable, extremely friendly and willing to let you taste anything.

They ship anywhere: http://www.riverstreetsweets.com/
I've shipped gifts to friends and family and they tasted as fresh as in the store!

SAVANNAH CANDY SHOP
This is another wonderful confection shop on the Waterfront and I'm convinced they're secretly pumping the smell of freshly baked sweets out into the street, just like Disneyland. I think they have the best peanut butter fudge I have ever had (even better than Mackinaw Fudge).

You must try their "Gophers", their very rich & homemade caramel poured on a thick bed of crunchy chopped pecans, and topped with silky smooth milk chocolate. SOooooooo good.
