My friends and I were heart broken when La Belle Epoque closed on this site a few years ago. The residents of Los Feliz are very loyal to their local businesses and the talk of the town was "Where were we going to get our eggs benedict on Sunday morning?"
It didn't take much time for the locals to warm up to Little Dom's. Their outdoor patio is great to 'people watch' and their coffee and espresso are really good here.
Their regular menu has a lot of great authentic Italian dishes, albeit a little pricey, that you normally don't see in Italian restaurants here in Los Angeles.
THE MUSTARD SEED CAFE
The Mustard Seed has exceptional food and ALL the locals know it. Make sure to get here early on the weekends to avoid the line.
This is a great place to meet up with friends for coffee and one of their great muffins.
I am on a never-ending multi-city search for the ultimate eggs benedict and I keep coming back to the Mustard Seed. Also, try their crab cake benedict... not too shabby.
THE ALCOVE CAFE
I will be honest with you, most people eating here make this a star-sighting pilgrimage or come to hob-nob with their fellow screenwriters. I hope they appreciate this cafe for their great food!
Me... I just live down the street and I simply love their cappuccinos, pastries and cakes, and french fries. It has taken many years, but I think I've had nearly everything on the menu and have enjoyed everything.
My suggestion: Go with a group of friends. Each of you get a different pastry and coffee and share. You will NOT be disappointed!
FIGARO CAFE and BAKERY
This French bistro makes you feel like you've been transported to Europe! They have WONDERFUL Cafe au Lait, an amazing chocolate ganache tart, and outdoor seating right in the heart of Los Feliz.
They have a great happy hour menu featuring escargot, crab croquettes and a great selection of wines.
